Easy, romantic prom hairstyle

Posted On: 2017-06-23 15:09:02 ; Read: 2059 time(s)

Looking for the perfect prom look? This pretty half updo has it all - tumbling curls, beautiful twists and a touch of sparkle. And it’s super simple. Honestly, we’re talking seriously easy here.

All you need to create the look is your trusty extensions, some basic equipment and Miss Alex’s fab tutorial. And the best part? You’ll be ready to go and chilling while your mates are running around in a panic as the limos arrive! Total prom pro.

You’ll need

STEP 1 - Apply your Lush hair extensions

To kick things off, apply your wefts as normal. If you’re new to clip-in hair extensions, don’t worry - we’ve got a great tutorial covering everything you need to know when it comes to applying clip-in hair extensions.

STEP 2 - Add a few loose waves

Once you’ve clipped in your extensions, it’s time to add in a few loose waves. This will give the look that lovely, romantic feel.

Simply wrap strands of hair around your curling wand, hold for a few seconds and release.

You want to make sure all of your curls are flowing away from your face. To do this, always wrap your hair behind the wand, not in front of it. Just a little top tip from us to you.

STEP 3 - Backcomb your top section

Once you’re all curled, grab your comb and add some height to your style. Just backcomb the section of hair on top of your head by gently pushing your comb against your roots.

STEP 4 - Create a bouffant

Next up, gather up your backcombed hair into a bouffant position. Keep the hair from each side of your head separate, creating two sections.

Take the left hand section and place it over the right hand section. Then grip it all in place.

STEP 5 - Make a twist

Now it’s time to make some twists of hair. These will add some interest to your ‘do. First, take a thick section of hair at one side of your head and twist it around your finger.

Grip your twisted section just underneath the your bouffant.

STEP 6 - And another

You want to do the exact same thing on the other side of your head. Keep your second twist the same thickness as your first one and grip it securely in place under your bouffant.

You might need to use quite a lot of grips here. Don’t worry about that, you want it to be nice and secure to stand up to all that prom fun!

Lastly, use your fingers to gently pull the twists apart a little. This will make

them look thicker and more voluminous.

STEP 7 - Add some sparkle

All that’s left is to place a beautiful decorative hairpin (any one you like) above the twists. Because every girl needs some bling.

And that’s it. How easy was that? Now go and have a prom night to remember!
