Call us geeks if you like but we LOVE a good Marvel movie – and this spring’s hottest is Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, with its motley gang of intergalactic heroes.

Our favourite character? It’s got to be the striking superhuman Gamora, played by beautiful Zoe Saldana. Not only do we love her ability to take down an entire group of villains with her martial arts bad-assery, but we also love her distinctive look. Who’d have thought green skin could look so great?

OK, we realise you might not want to go the whole hog and recreate Gamora’s green complexion (although don’t let us hold you back if you fancy it!). So we’ve taken the best things about Gamora’s style – that dramatic pink hair and her other-worldly beauty – and created this Gamora-inspired look using Lush hair extensions. And, as always, we couldn’t have done it without the help of our other favourite superhuman, the lovely Miss Alex.

So why not try a bold new look? It’s out of this world…

The first step to creating Gamora’s vibrant look is to chalk your Lush hair extensions pink. Lay your wefts flat on an old clean towel and grab your pink hair chalk (which you can buy online or in some large chemists).

You want to chalk your wefts from the ends upwards, chalking in downwards strokes. Take your time and remember – the harder you press, the bolder your colour will be. Try to chalk some strands higher up than others so that your pink doesn’t just all finish at the same length. You’re trying to create a pink balayage effect here.

Repeat this process on all of your wefts. Don’t worry, the hair chalk will easily wash out when you’re done! For more info on washing chalk out check out our tutorial on caring for your extensions.

Once you have chalked all of your hair extensions, simply apply them as normal. If you’re new to using clip-in hair extensions, you can find all the info you need in our helpful tutorial on how to apply clip-in hair extensions.

When you have clipped in all of your wefts, take your comb and trace a line up from the tip of your nose to create a centre parting.

Then, to help blend your natural hair with your extensions, grab your hair chalk again and apply colour to strands of your natural hair as well. You can use exactly the same technique as before, starting at the ends of your hair and working upwards.

A major part of Gamora’s look are those intense eyes of hers. To give your eyes that same dramatic style, you’ll need to grab your eyeshadows and make-up brushes.

First, apply your matte mid-brown shade to the crease of your eyelids.

Then choose a deep green shade and apply it to the rest of your eyelid.

Now for the most daring part of this funky look: green Gamora lips. Hey, if blue lippy can storm the world of fashion, then so can green, right?

Alex uses a metallic green liquid lip colour from NYX in the shade ‘Extraterrestrial’ (very fitting). Apply to your whole lips, this isn’t the time to hold back!

Finally, take a black lip pencil or eyeliner and line your lips for a well-defined pout.

And there you have it, a look that’s fashion-forward and geek-tastic at the same time – we love it!
