How to apply a quad weft
How to apply a quad weft
Pushed for time? Always in a mad rush? Yep, us too! Still want a stunning hair transformation? Of course you do. Well ladies, it’s time to put your hands together for the quad weft one piece. This ingenious hairpiece gives you almost as much extra volume as a full set of hair extensions. But, by bringing you four strips of hair in just one thick, manageable weft, you can clip it in in half the time. And that leaves you plenty of spare time to tackle that all-important to-do list! Or you know, have a cup of tea and google funny cat videos again…
Don’t believe us? Our favourite font of hair wisdom, Miss Alex, is on hand to show you exactly how it’s done. It’s never been easier to give your hair a gorgeous natural-looking volume boost in just minutes. Read on and you’ll soon be the queen of the quad weft!
What are you waiting for? Let’s get your equipment ready…
You’ll need
-
Your quad weft one piece
-
Sectioning comb
-
Fine-toothed comb for backcombing
-
Curling wand
-
Brush
-
Optional headband or bandana
Good to go? Let’s do this.
Ready, steady…
-
Before you clip in your quad weft, give both your natural hair and your quad weft a good brush through to make sure there are no tangles.
-
Then section off your hair at widest point of your head, just above your ears, to give you a top section and a bottom section. Pin the top section out of the way for now.
If your hair is short or quite fine, you might need to make the section a bit lower so that there is plenty of your hair left in the top section. You need this top section of your real hair to cover up your quad weft and make it look as natural as possible.
-
Now backcomb the hair in your lower section by pushing your comb gently towards your roots to create a bit of extra volume so you have plenty of hair for your quad weft to grip on to.
Clip in your quad weft
-
It’s time to clip in your quad weft and it couldn’t be easier. Just take your weft, position it in place along the section you’ve created and clip it in.
-
Once it’s clipped in, let out your top section and brush both your natural hair and your weft through so that they look nicely blended together.
Make it natural
One of the easiest ways to make your quad weft seem as if it’s just part of your natural (but voluminous) hair, is to give it a quick curl.
-
Just take your curling wand and wrap sections of hair around it, holding for a few seconds before releasing your curls. For a more detailed look at this technique, just check out our post on how to curl extensions.
-
Once you’ve curled your hair, brush the curls through to create gorgeous soft waves.
More top tips
Alex has some great advice for making your quad weft look even more natural. Try backcombing your roots a little, then gently brushing over the top. This should give extra coverage to help hide your extensions. Another great idea for making sure your clips are well disguised is to take a retro bandana or headband and place it over your weft to keep it under wraps!
Super easy, right? Total hair transformation in minutes! Now back to your to-do list – or those cat videos…
