We’ve been chatting to the lovely Sarah about her fabulous lifestyle blog Must Have Mom. Check it out for recipe ideas, instructions on how to make your own DIY beauty products and loads more.
Sarah’s been telling us about how she’s turned her blogging hobby into a successful career and become her own boss in the process. She’s been giving us her inside tips on becoming a successful blogger and how to handle the balancing act that is being a self employed super mum!

Nicci: Can you tell us a bit about how you got started as a lifestyle blogger?
Sarah: I actually began blogging 8 years ago and started out sharing money saving tips for moms. It evolved into review blogging and then on to lifestyle blogging. I now blog full time for a living!
Nicci: How do you organise your time as your own boss? And do you have any top tips on managing your time for others?
Sarah: As a busy mom of four little ones and a business owner it is imperative that I stay on top of time management. I am a list maker, a calendar follower and I am very organized! Self-discipline and drive are very important in this business. Organization is key to keeping the wheels turning. My tip would be to set goals for each day, each week and each month and work towards them.
Sarah: Managing my inbox is definitely a time suck. It's easy to get lost and waste hours upon hours sifting through things. I have learned to be efficient and straight to the point, deleting emails with subject lines that I know aren't a fit and quickly opening and answering others. I also have an assistant to delegate other tasks to so I have more time for business management.
Nicci: What would be your top tips for aspiring bloggers?
Sarah: Blogging is not a get rich quick scheme. It takes a lot of of time and energy to get a successful blog up and running. If you work hard and you are genuine then you will go far. Stay true to yourself and don't sell out.
