How to get Brigitte Bardot hair using clip-in hair extensions

Super sexy style alert! We’ve got a great look for you this week ladies – brought to you by our favourite screen siren from the swinging 60s, the beautiful Brigitte Bardot. Known for her cool French style, she’s famous for taking the blonde bombshell look to the next level. Think big bouffant, cat’s eye flicks, cute bikinis and sexy off-the-shoulder tops. No wonder she’s still a style icon decades later.

We’ve been loving the Bardot tops on the high street this summer and now you can complete your look with fabulous Bardot hair. We’ve got a great video from the lovely Miss Alex to show you how to create your very own bombshell look – whatever your hair colour. Did you know Bardot was originally a brunette?

Ready to channel your inner sex kitten? You so are.

You’ll need

Fake your fringe

Brigitte Bardot was known for her heavy 60s fringe. But don’t worry if you’re not up for the chop, there’s an easy way to fake the look. First you need to clip in your hair extensions. If you’re new to extensions just check out our video on how to apply clip in hair extensions and pop back once you’re done ‘kay?

Now draw a line up from your nose with your sectioning comb to create a middle parting.

Then, on one side of your parting, make a section at the front of your hair to act as your fringe. It helps if you clip the rest of your hair out of the way.

Now backcomb your ‘fringe’ section to give it some extra volume, create a soft sweep of hair and clip it in place behind your ear with a hair grip.

Repeat this on other side of your parting and then release the rest of your pinned back hair.

Big up your bouffant

Now for the fun bit, it’s Bardot bouffant time. Take small sections of hair around the crown and backcomb them by taking your comb and gently pushing down towards your roots. Don’t hold back!

Once you have backcombed all of the hair, gather it all up into position to create a half up half down style. Smooth over the backcombed sections with your comb so it’s neat and then secure it in place with some hair grips. Give your bouffant a good spritz of hairspray to keep it in place.

It’s all wavy

Now turn your attention to the ends of your hair. You need to grab your curling wand and curl a few sections to create that sexy, tousled wavy look. Wrap each section of hair around your curling wand, hold for a few seconds, and then release. If you want some extra help with this, just check out our handy post on how to get loose curls.

Once you’re finished curling, brush through your hair to loosen your waves. And there you have it, gorgeous hair worthy of a screen goddess. Lights, camera, action…
